Peanut Butter Cookie Recipe
Ingredients
- ½ cup butter, at room temperature
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup peanut butter
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)
How to Make Peanut Butter Cookies
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and peanut butter together until light and creamy.
- Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Add the vanilla extract and continue mixing until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until a dough forms.
- If desired, add the chocolate chips and gently fold them into the dough.
- Take walnut-sized portions of the dough, roll them into balls, and arrange them on the prepared baking tray, leaving some space between each one.
- Gently flatten each cookie and use a fork to create a crisscross pattern on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes, or until lightly golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking tray for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve and enjoy! Store the cookies in an airtight container to keep them fresh.
